Security Council to endorse Iran deal
The U.N. Security Council is set to endorse the nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers this morning. The U.S.-drafted resolution is certain to be adopted, in all likelihood unanimously, because it has been approved by the five veto-wielding members of the council. The council also is expected to adopt a series of measures leading to the end of U.N. sanctions, along with a mechanism to reinstate the sanctions if Iran fails to meets its obligations under the accord.

Man dies in Claremont 
The weekend thunderstorms are being blamed for the death of a man in Claremont, with police saying a tree fell on the victim's car. Police have not released the victim's identity. The storms also caused widespread power outages and left some streets flooded into this morning.

Man drowns after canoe capsizes
One man has drowned after his canoe capsized on a pond in Albany yesterday. State marine officials say the man was with two other people when the canoe overturned on Whitton Pond. All three were wearing life jackets but the victim apparently got trapped beneath the canoe.
