Chinese stocks are down for a fourth day today, hitting an eight-month low. Japanese stocks also closed down, but other Asian and European markets have bounced back today from a day of heavy losses. U.S. stock futures also are up after yesterday's global sell-off that saw the Dow lose 3.6 percent.

More details emerge in prep school rape trial
details of an elite prep school's campus tradition of sexual conquest are emerging at a recent graduate's rape trial. Prosecutors say Owen Labrie was two days away from graduation last year when he raped a 15-year-old girl in a building on the grounds of St. Paul's School in Concord as part of Senior Salute. The defense says the two had consensual sexual contact. Students who testified yesterday said Senior Salute could involve anything from kissing to sex.

Fund set up for stabbing victim
The family of a man charged with fatally stabbing a woman in a supermarket is setting up a fund for the victim's family. Police have charged Connor MacCalister with killing 59-year-old Wendy Boudreau last week at the Saco supermarket. Boudreau's funeral is scheduled for today. MacCalister is being held without bail and has not entered a plea.
