Myrtle Milledge, the Oldest New England Patriot’s Fan, Passed Away in Maine at 106
Her name is Myrtle Milledge from Mexico, Maine, and according to her obituary on the Meader & Son Funeral Home website, she passed away peacefully at an Auburn, Maine hospice care at 106 years old.
The New England Patriot's franchise recognized her officially as the oldest fan a week prior to her death, giving her her own New England Patriots jersey donning her last name and the number 106 on the back.
Think about this for a minute. She was born on December 26, 1915, according to her obituary. So, Myrtle was in her 40's when the then-called Boston Patriots became an official franchise in the American Football League back in 1959.
The team joined the NFL in 1970 according to the Patriot's website. The site says that the Boston Patriots moved to Foxborough in 1971, and that's when the team's name changed to what we know now as our beloved New England Patriots.
Myrtle saw the complete evolution of the New England Patriots. Her obituary even mentions her love of the New England Patriots.
Myrtle was recently recognized as being the Oldest Patriots Fan in the world by receiving a New England Patriot Jersey with her name and the number 106 to represent her age. She also received a signed letter from Robert Krafts, the owner of the Patriots team. She enjoyed watching many sports, particularly the New England Teams.
In May of 2019, Newscenter Maine says she was even the grand marshal of the Patriots parade in Rumford, Maine celebrating the team's Super Bowl victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
