New Hampshire Could Be Affected As Pizza Hut Shuts Down Up To 500 Locations

As many as 500 dine-in locations will be shuttered nationwide, as the company focuses on improving delivery.

One of the most iconic chains in America is in transition.

According to Food Business News, as many as 500 older U.S. dine-in Pizza Hut restaurants could close as the chain increases its focus on delivery/carryout. No word on which locations would be affected, other than the lowest volume locations will be high on the list.

Per their website, there are 19 Pizza Hut locations in the Granite State. Three of them are located in Nashua.

Within the United States, about 6,100 Pizza Hut locations are traditional restaurants and 1,350 are express units.

Earlier this month, David W. Gibbs, president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer for parent company Yum! Brands said “We are leaning in to accelerate the transition of our Pizza Hut U.S. asset base to truly modern delivery/carryout assets," according to Food Business News. “This will ultimately strengthen the Pizza Hut business in the U.S. and set it up for a faster long-term growth."

The days of Pizza Hut being a place to gather with all your friends are slowly slipping away.
