New Hampshire Remembers Local Police Chief Killed in the Line of Duty Six Years Ago Today
You may remember that awful night six years ago when you heard the news of a shoot out during a drug bust on Post Road in Greenland, New Hampshire. It was April 12, 2012. Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney, who was just days from retirement was killed and four other officers who were part of the drug task force were injured. Chief Maloney was 48 years old.
After his passing, the Chief Michael Maloney Fund was set up in his honor and every year, there is a road race that begins at the Stratham Police Department and ends at the Greenland Police Department.
Mark Ericson and I are proud to be part of this community event ever year. We hope you'll join us by either running/walking/volunteering or just taking a moment to remember Chief Maloney and his family on this day.
