NH Fish & Game Welcome Their Newest Adorable 4-Legged Member

New Hampshire Fish and Game have a new member and he's pretty darn cute!

The department welcomed a chocolate lab puppy who will be used as part of their K-9 unit.  According to nhfishgame.com, the 14 week old puppy was donated by  Wes and Belinda Reed of Rise and Shine Retrievers in Barnstead, NH.

The puppy is named Fin and will go through some pretty intense training in obedience, tracking, and being around fish and wildlife daily.  Once completed, Fin will be able to join his partner Fish and Game Conservation Officer Kenneth St. Pierre on the job!

All in, it's over 500 hours of training that is required for the pup, according to nhfishgame.com.

The K-9 unit is pretty interesting.  According to New Hampshire Fish & Game, these units are a valuable tool in search and rescue missions, finding evidence, and fish and wildlife detection.

It looks like Officer St. Pierre is also excited about having Finn on the job:

The NH Fish and Game canine teams are run by donations made to the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH.  Colonel Kevin Jordan tells nhwildlifeheritage.org that the foundation is essential in their operation, helping to raise money and bring awareness year round to the canine program.
