(QUEENS, NYC) - A Rochester, N.H. man was arrested in New York City for allegedly shooting at police officers around 8:30 yesterday morning.

The alleged shooter has been identified as 27-year-old Jeremy Clark. He is being charged with attempted murder, assault criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. Clark parked his vehicle near 56th Avenue and 61st Street and began walking down the street armed with a gun. He then allegedly fired at a woman in a van before taking refuge in a nearby home. Police were finally able to apprehend Clark, but not before he reportedly fired a shot at the officers. There is no word as to whether or not anyone else was injured during the incident.

A Manchester woman was charged with disobeying a police officer after she said she was unaware police were trying to pull her over as she drove down Second Street and onto Interstate 293 last  night. Police said they were involved in a brief, low-speed pursuit that began about 8;10 p.m. 26 year old Binh Chau was charged and  released on $500 personal recognizance bail.

Two-time Academy Award winner Robert Redford is going to deliver the commencement address at Colby College in May. The 78-year-old actor, director and producer will be receiving an honorary degree during the event on the lawn of  Miller Library on May 26 in Waterville, Maine.

A total of $1.3 million dollars in grants is going to 13 Connecticut River projects in New Hampshire and Vermont to improve water quality, restore habitat and conserve space. The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation grants were announced today.
