All the signs are here, including Rochester’s hunt for the perfect Christmas Tree

You know fall is upon us.  That smell is in the air.  I was at the beach last weekend, and it just feels so different out.  Not cold yet, but there is something fall-like in the air.  Before you know it, Halloween will have come and gone, and Christmas will be right around the corner.  One of the surest signs is that city officials in Rochester are scouring the area for the perfect tree for Central Square.

Hard to beat Last Year’s Tree

I know they will have to look hard to find one better than last year.  The tree is just outside of the building where I live, and it really puts a smile on my face every time I see it.  I can’t wait to see this year’s tree.  The city is looking for a Balsam Fir or Blue Spruce.  The tree must be in good condition, found within the city limits of Rochester, and should be about 25-35 feet tall.  The city prefers that it have just one trunk, no split tops.  Of course, ease of getting to the tree will be taken into consideration.

Tree Service will be Donated

According to a city official, Lisa Clark, Urban Tree Service donates the removal of the town’s Christmas Tree from any property for this purpose.  If you are interested in donating a tree for the town, contact Lisa Clark at (603) 332-4096.  You get bragging rights for the rest of your life knowing that a tree from your property will be Rochester’s official Christmas Tree.  The tree really makes Rochester look like a picture postcard of a New England Town.  The decorations and lights when it snows are spectacular.

Since we are talking about Christmas, the birth of Jesus ( if you are a Christian)
