Rooftop Igloo Dining in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is a Whole New Level of Fabulous

It was a cold night outside as we sat down to eat tacos.  I was telling my friend about the hotel down the street, and how they had rooftop igloo dining.

Her eyes lit up as she said, "Let's go!" So we did.

We dashed out, apologizing to the waitress (we hadn't ordered yet), and zipped up the elevator.

There was an igloo open at the Rooftop at the Envio in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and it had our name on it.

Of course, we ordered wine, and appetizers immediately as we settled into the heated dome filled with big pillows, velvety warm blankets, and an ambiance of sheer delight as we looked over the city of Portsmouth.

This was so cool, and the hostess told us up to six people could dine in each igloo.  What a great idea for a girls' night out or just friends or co-workers hanging out, or even a holiday family dinner.

What's unique is you are outside, but you are warm.  The igloo is rented in a 2-hour time interval.

On Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, the igloo reservations are complimentary, although you will need to order drinks and appetizers.  On Wednesday and Thursday, the fee is $100 for two hours, and on Friday and Saturday, it's $150 for two hours.

There's also a brunch igloo so you can view the city before the early sunsets.

How's the food?  The charcuterie board was a perfect starter, and we ordered the deviled eggs too.  Both were a nice compliment to our glasses of pinot noir.

I am not a food expert, but appreciate good eats, and the short rib, and the salmon entrees were very pleasing to the palate.

The hostess and server (shout out to Tatum and Amelia) were attentive and proud of their restaurant.  I only have one word for the experience, and it's FABULOUS!
