True story: my social media feed is basically a mix of food reviews, concert videos, memes and people's pets. But if I had to choose my favorite out of the bunch, it'll always be the pets! I mean, who doesn't love a goofy dog video or a cat doing something completely ridiculous?

As someone with three dogs of my own, I know the commitment that comes with loving them. It's not a part-time job, it's for life. I look at my dogs as my kids, and I'll always have a massive soft spot for animals. That's why the second I came across a veterinary hospital raising money for a local shelter, I immediately stopped scrolling.

Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is inviting pet owners to post photos of their rescued pets in the comments of a special social media fundraiser. For every rescue pet photo shared, they'll donate $1 to the New Hampshire SPCA.

It's a simple idea with a powerful message: celebrating the animals who found loving homes while helping the ones who are still waiting for theirs.

Whether your dog came from the New Hampshire SPCA, another rescue organization, or even a shelter hundreds of miles away, every rescue story counts. Pet owners are encouraged to share a photo and tell everyone a little bit about their four-legged family member.

If you're anything like me, you know rescue animals have a special way of choosing us just as much as we choose them. Every adopted pet has a story, and many owners will tell you their rescue ended up rescuing them right back.

This fundraiser is also helping shine a spotlight on the Paws Walk, happening June 7 at Stratham Hill Park. The annual event brings together animal lovers from across the Seacoast to raise money and awareness for homeless animals throughout the region. How cool is that?

If there was ever a reason to flood the internet with pet photos, helping shelter animals find their forever homes is a pretty great one.

So, if you've got a rescue cat, dog, rabbit, guinea pig, or any other adopted companion, now's the perfect time to show them off. That favorite photo sitting in your camera roll could help another animal get one step closer to finding the loving family they deserve.
