Wildlife Trackers Believe Mountain Lions Will Return to NH
Mackenzie Yelin a Keene, NH woman was out on her morning jog and she spotted something in the woods by the road. She claimed it was way bigger than her dog and resembled a cougar or a mountain lion! According to the Union Leader, neither species has been confirmed to live in New Hampshire since the 1850s.
An animal tracker named Sue Morse confirmed that she believes that mountain lions will inevitably come to New Hampshire. Sue says that western mountain lions have been migrating east for years but breeding pairs of mountain lions have yet to be identified.
If you do spot a mountain lion in New Hampshire, well, first of all, don't get too close but second of all if you are able to capture a photo, do that! A quality photo that can be verified as being taken in New Hampshire will be enough for New Hampshire Fish and Game to investigate.
