After closing on Wednesday due to a positive COVID-19 test, the Wing-Itz location in Dover re-opened on Saturday.

Posting on Facebook that an employee had tested positive for the coronavirus, Wing-Itz said its plans were to shut down until further notice effective Wednesday.

"Recently we've had an employee who has tested positive for COVID-19," the eatery wrote in the post. "Out of precaution we are going to close until further notice. ... The safety of our customers and employees is out top priority."

However, Wing-Itz posted again on Saturday to announce it was re-opening with the assistance of staff from the Wing-Itz location in Portsmouth.

"With the help of our amazing staff from the Portsmouth location," the post read, "we will be re-opning in Dover today from 2-10 p.m."

Another post Sunday night confirmed the Dover eatery was still open, updating folks with the following: "We are up and running thanks to our Portsmouth staff. Come on in and get your fix, or try us on DoorDash."

Wing-Itz has accrued a significant following on the Seacoast and its Dover location currently holds a 4.5 rating on Google with 425 reviews. Many reviews mention the eatery's gluten-free wings as an area that sets it apart from its competitors.

"Great selection of draft beers and yummy gluten free wings!" wrote one user.

"Great food, relaxed pub like vibe, small bar area or regular tables," wrote another.
