I spoke with the owners and you can still save this iconic business.

After 39, almost 40 years, Andy Cochran and his wife, Charlotte are closing Salmon Falls Stoneware, 75 Oak Street, Dover, NH.

They made the announcement on their Facebook page on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Why is Salmon Falls Stoneware Closing?

Andy told me that they tried to sell the business and although they had interested buyers, there were none who went actually purchased the property.

Andy is 71 years old and he and his wife Charlotte just thought it was a good time to retire.

The New England Public Has Responded to the News

The response to the announcement has been amazing.  The parking lot has the capacity for 80 cars and it has been jam packed with fans wanting their favorite patterns.

The line to check out at one point this past weekend was a 45 minute wait.

Bring a Pot in and Andy Will Sign It

Andy sounded a bit melancholy about the business closing.  He did say that if people have a pot they already own, bring it in and Andy will sign it.  If you don't have a pot of your own yet, they have thousands available.

You Can Buy Salmon Falls Stoneware in Dover, NH

The artists who work at the studio want the business to go on.  If you are interested in buying the building and/or the business, you have to act fast because they are throwing away things they aren't going to need anymore.

They have all the masters, however, you would have to create the molds.  You would also have the rights to all the patterns.

Andy told me the building with the business was $950K, with the business it would go up to 1.1 million.  Just the business, 250 or 300K.  I couldn't find a listing, however, you can talk to them about it.  You better do it quickly though because everything is going.
