A man who fired a flare gun in the face of another person at a Hampton gas station Thursday afternoon has not yet been captured by police.

Hampton Police Chief Alex Reno said Elton Stanley, 37, and another person fought inside the Speedway gas station on Lafayette Road (Route 1) at Kershaw Road around 4 p.m. Stanley fired the gun and then left on his bicycle. The other individual was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

A warrant was issued for Stanley's arrest on felony charges of second degree assault and reckless conduct, according to Reno.
