How does a cool $500 sound just for doing something you love?  That's right.  If you love ice fishing, then read on, because there's an event coming in hot that's just right for you.

New Hampshire's Washington Fire Department is hosting its 40th Annual Ice Fishing Derby this weekend.  If you want in, you have to register by noon on Saturday, February 17, to fish on Saturday, or by noon on Sunday, February 18, to fish on Sunday.

Here's the deal.  This derby wouldn't have lasted 40 years if it wasn't great, so don't hesitate to be part of this fun event.  Whether you're an avid ice fishing person or a beginner, it doesn't matter.

Prizes will be awarded each day for heaviest fish, longest fish, and longest trout.  1st place for each category snags $500, while second place is $250.

If you have kids who love to ice fish, bring them.  Kids prizes include $100 for heaviest fish, and prizes for longest fish and smallest pickerel. Those 16 years and younger do not need a license to ice fish, but over 16 you will need a current New Hampshire Fishing License.
