Police: Tips Lead To Catching ‘Violent Sexual Predator’ in Dover
Local police, with help from the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force found a child rapist Tuesday night, thanks to numerous tips.
Multiple communities worked together in locating forty four year-old Edward Coleman III, as their were a number of tips which lead to his capture. According to the Portsmouth Patch, one of the locations officials concentrated on was an apartment complex located on Old Madbury Lane in Dover. Deputy Marshall Jeffery White said "When officers arrived, Coleman initially refused to open the door to the apartment, but after a short period of time, the officers were able to enter the apartment where they arrested Coleman without further incident." "Coleman was transported to the Strafford County Jail for processing and holding pending his initial court appearance on the outstanding Dover warrants."
Per New Hampshire's sex offender registry database, Coleman has a long criminal history stretching nearly 25 years, including convictions of burglary, drug, stalking, theft, stolen property, assault, false imprisonment, and others. This, in addition to aggravated felonious sexual assault on a victim under 13 and felonious sexual assault on a victim under 16 convictions in 2012.
