Some Spaulding Turnpike Commutes Are About To Get Longer

(Dover, NH) The NH Department of Transportation will permanently close the Exit 5 Northbound on-ramp in Dover next Tuesday.

It will mean that, for a while,  motorists on Dover Point Road, Boston Harbor Road and Wentworth Terrace that want to go north on the Spaulding Turnpike (NH 16) will  actually have to take the Exit 6 southbound on-ramp, cross the bridge into Newington and take exit 4 to reverse direction.

Eventually, that traffic will be able to use a new Exit 6 Northbound on-ramp that is set to open this fall as part of the reconstruction of the Spaulding Turnpike in Newington and Dover.
