For families who love to ice skate or who have young children who want to learn how to do this fun outdoor activity, Strawbery Banke's new Puddle Dock Pond ice skating rink is now open!

Thanks to the generous contributions made by scores of individuals and Portsmouth, N.H. area businesses, the non-profit museum was able to constructed a new outdoor ice skating facility and open on Friday night. On Sunday, dozens of New Hampshire and southern Maine families took to the ice and enjoyed a sunny afternoon of good old fashioned holiday fun.

With the White Apron Cafe next door, families could also grab a cup of hot chocolate, sandwiches and soups. In the evening, the facility also offers a bonfire to go with lighted ice skating. The outdoor rink also offers time for ice hockey games and lessons for adults and children.

The new ice skating facility will also be open all the way until the end of February and gives people one more reason to want to visit Portsmouth, especially during the holiday season. If you and your family enjoy ice skating, check it out.
