According to WGME, 31-year-old Daniel Wadleigh is an avid hunter and has spent lots of time in the Maine woods. He was driving on Route 6 scoping out fishing locations for the weekend when he came across two felines who appeared to be in a disagreement.

When I first watched this video, I thought the noises were being made by a human. But it appears that these blood-curdling screams are coming from the Lynx's themselves. As someone commented on the video, can you imagine hearing this noise in the middle of the night outside your tent while you are camping? That would be tough to sleep through and also terrifying.

Kendall Martin who is a regional biologist with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife took a gander at Wadleigh's video and said it is pretty normal for Lynx to get territorial with each other, especially this time of year to protect their young. It is also normal for them to be vocal and not physical in a standoff. Humans should be more like this. Use your words!
