There are certain things you probably shouldn't brag about unless you're prepared to back it up.

Your golf game.

How good you are at cornhole.

And your apple pie.

Because every family in New England seems to have somebody who makes THE BEST apple pie.

According to who?

Your family? Come on. Your family has to say nice things about you.

The 97.5 WOKQ Apple Pie Contest Returns To Apple Harvest Day in downtown Dover on Saturday, October 3, 2026

Apple Harvest Day is one of those New Hampshire fall traditions you have to experience at least once. More than 60,000 people are expected to take over downtown Dover for a full day of food, live entertainment, vendors and all the fall things.

We're looking for amateur bakers who are willing to put their reputation on the line.

Your Grandma's Secret Recipe handed down that's treated like classified government information.? Bring It.

Maybe you've been making the same apple pie for 25 years.

Or maybe you made an apple pie twice, people liked it, and now you're walking around with an absolutely unreasonable amount of confidence.

I respect that.

Because we're putting bragging rights on the line at Apple Harvest Day.

Space in the contest is limited, so if you're already thinking, "Mine would win"... Good.

That's exactly the kind of unnecessary pie confidence we're looking for.

Enter the 97.5 WOKQ Apple Pie Contest now down below.

Talk is cheap. Pie is delicious. Let's see what you've got.

And before you start preheating the oven, here's everything you need to know.

Two Divisions for Amateur Apple Pie Bakers

We're separating the rookies from the veterans. Kind of.

There are two divisions:

Adult Division: Bakers 16 years old and older.

Youth Division: Bakers 15 years old and younger.

Parents, guardians and friends can help a young baker, because we're not monsters. But the majority of the work needs to be done by the kid.

Adults, you're on your own.

You've had years to prepare for this moment.

What Do the Apple Pie Winners Get?

Besides the kind of unchecked confidence that comes from knowing you officially beat everybody else's apple pie?

The Adult Division winner will receive a trophy from Tut's Trophies to proudly display, a WOKQ swag bag filled with goodies and WINNERS CHOICE of one country concert at BankNH Pavilion in 2027..

The Youth Division winner will also take home a trophy from Tut's Trophies, and a WOKQ prize bag and $100 to Hilltop Fun Center

And both winners receive something money can't buy:

Bragging rights for an entire year.

Use them irresponsibly.

The WOKQ Apple Pie Contest is part of the 41st Annual Apple Harvest Day, happening Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Dover, New Hampshire.

Presented by the Dover Chamber of Commerce, Apple Harvest Day fills downtown Dover with hundreds of vendors, food, live entertainment and everything else you need for a proper New England fall Saturday.

And we're not talking about a little neighborhood fall festival here.

Apple Harvest Day draws more than 60,000 people to downtown Dover.

So, yeah. No pressure on that pie or anything.

Here's the part you really need to pay attention to:

The WOKQ Apple Pie Contest is limited to just 12 entries. Twelve.

So if you've made it this far thinking, “I'd absolutely win this thing,” don't wait until September 30 to suddenly remember you need to register.

Get your name in early and secure your spot.

A few important rules before you start talking trash:

  • You MUST register using the official entry form below.
  • Bring your apple pie to Henry Law Park by 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026. With tens of thousands of people downtown that day, give yourself plenty of time to get there.
  • There is a limit of one registration per person.
  • Adults may help Youth Division contestants, but the majority of the work must be done by the child.
  • The judges' selection in each division is final.

In other words, no instant replay.

No calling the league office.

No demanding we release the judges' scorecards.

The pie decision is FINAL.

So grab the apples. Find the cinnamon. Call Grandma and see if she'll finally give up that classified family recipe.

Then walk into Dover carrying that pie like you already know where the trophy is going.

Adults, you've had years to practice.

Kids... embarrass them.
