What the Local NH Community Wants Next in Harvey’s Bakery Building in Downtown Dover
It seems like ever since Harvey's Bakery closed, people have been talking about what will become of the building.

The Airey Brothers turned to "it's loyal fan base" for some inspiration. So far, they haven't been inspired by anyone from Boston to Portland. So they asked the question:
"What would YOU like to see go into the storied Harvey’s Building’s first floor retail space?!"
According to the (un)Official City of Dover's Facebook page, people have ideas:

Dover needs a spot where we can pop in and grab or a quick sit to get fresh food, fresh salads, unique foods… but fresh and not prepackaged.
More Live Music Needed in the Garrison City?

Something like the book n bar, somewhere to go and listen to live music and read a good book. There's not a lot to go do after 6 or 7, it would be nice to have that
Breakaway Cafe did have live music at one point, but I think there was complaints from some people. I'm not sure if it was the time of the live music or the music itself.
Here's another suggestion from Emily:
A restaurant with fresh seafood and a raw bar! Think Jumpin’ Jay’s. I know he had opened something similar a while back, but Dover wasn’t quite ready for it. We are now!!!!

Between losing Harvey’s and dustons- there’s a big gap to fill. This city absolutely DOES NOT need another insurance place, realtor or bank.
These are great ideas. I particularly like the idea of a raw bar. For me, on a Friday night, oysters and a martini equals happiness and joy.
The Dover, NH Elephant in the Room
Here's the thing about our beloved city. No matter what goes into that space, parking has to be a consideration. Maybe there are plans to build a parking garage and I don't know it yet, but that is what may prevent people from coming to a wicked cool spot downtown, no matter what it is.
This Idea is Bonkers
Wanna know what I think should go in there? A fried clam shack. For real. People will come in droves to get those bad-boys. I mean, take a look at Red's in Wiscasset, Maine. People line up for HOURS in the Summer to get one of their famous lobster rolls.
What are your suggestions for the space? Let me know and I can pass them along to the developers.
