The son of a woman found shot to death in her Danville home has been charged with murder.

New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella said James Coe, 20, the son of Denise Damato-Coe, 59, used a rifle to shoot her to death inside her Back Road home late Thursday night. The autopsy determined she had been shot multiple times.

A motive for the shooting was not disclosed.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of James Coe on second degree murder charges and falsifying evidence. Formela said that James Coe knowingly altered, concealed, and removed the rifle. He was arrested Wednesday evening in Revere, Massachusetts, and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

He is being held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment in Chelsea District Court, followed by extradition proceedings to New Hampshire.
