Inflation is crippling all of us, and it seems that so many need an extra source of income to make ends meet, save for a house, or to just have extra cash in hand.

The cost of groceries for a family is outrageous, and if you want to eat organically (or somewhat healthily), the prices are even more staggering.

If you have to pitch in some extra hours to boost your family's income, what is the most likely side hustle for folks from the Granite, Bay, and Pine Tree States?

CreativeFabrica.com recently analyzed Google trends to get a better idea of what residents are doing for more earning power.

The results were surprising.  If you thought the most promising side hustle is being a rideshare driver, you are not wrong, but it's not what most New Englanders do to make extra money.

Rideshare drivers are the top extra job that residents in Massachusetts participate in, but not in other New England states.  With Boston being a prominent city in America, driving for rideshare companies can be very lucrative, and a top choice for people who want flexible schedules.

New Hampshire residents take a different road to side hustle jobs.  The top opportunity in the Granite State is as a life coach.

Meanwhile, it's more provincial and creative in Maine.  Most Mainers make extra cash being an Etsy Shop owner, or selling arts and crafts.

Residents of Rhode Island and Vermont find it most lucrative to dabble as a blogger, using a totally different creative side of the brain with writing skills.  And finally, Connecticut creates additional income sources through personal training.

While none of these additional employment opportunities are surprising, it depends on how much time you have to devote to hustling extra bucks.

It's too bad that living costs so much, but you do what you have to do.
