Like many of us here in New Hampshire, I am having a really hard time wrapping my head around the tragic scene at Sky Meadow Country Club on Saturday night.

According to many news outlets both locally from WMUR and nationally from ABC News, on Saturday night, September 20, 2025, a 23 year old man and former employee of the Sky Meadow Country Club, Hunter Nadeau, walked in to the restaurant and open fire.  Robert DeCesare stood up to protect his family and was fatally shot.  Two other people were wounded.

Sky Meadow Country Club Owner Posts Facebook Message

As is the case in times of crisis, there are people who will step up to help others.  After the owner of the Sky Meadow Country Club posted a "Message to Our Community," there were comments made on the Facebook page by people who wanted to thank those that helped.

Nancy Reynolds had this to say:

My condolences go out to the victims and their families. I am still in shock trying to process the nightmare. Special thanks to the bartender Jeremy, who helped me so much as I was in a state of shock.

Debbie Liakos Courtney wanted to give her gratitude:

My son was working in the restaurant last night and thankfully managed to get out safely in a vehicle. I want to commend your employee Nolan who grabbed my son’s phone and fielded countless calls and texts from our frantic family all while trying to get himself to safety. He should not have had to witness the horror that he did at such a young age and yet he still remained calm while trying to help us find our son.

Bette Liveston also extended her thanks:
We are forever grateful to Paula and Andy who opened up their home to shelter our daughter and her husband, along with others who were there for a wedding. Things could have been so much worse; thank God so many people stepped up.

Nashua, New Hampshire is Where My Roots Live

Nashua, New Hampshire has always been part of me.  It is where my Mother and Father ran a corner store for the people in our neighborhood.  It's where many family members are buried.  It's where I met my best, life long friends that still live there.  It is where I rode my bike around the neighborhood to experience my first real feeling of freedom. Nashua is where my son was born and where his first home was.
My heart goes out to everyone involved.
